Good Girl
Always be a good girl, have delicious meals prepared on time
Most men come home hungry, your welcome and a smile are most sublime
Rest well, touch up your makeup, make sure that you're refreshed when he arrives
Put a ribbon in your hair, a dress cut down to there,
Dust and clean and make him feel alive
Be a good girl.
Get up a little early, don't let him see the cold cream on your face
Be a little gay and interesting, don't wake him with your problems or complaints
Be a good girl.
Last and most important, eliminate or minimize the noise
Listen to him, but if you speak, be sure to use a low and soothing voice
Be a good girl.
Edgar Allan
In a corner there’s a crevice where Edgar goes to play
Flickering lights in eyelids bound by brilliance
Nameless …nevermore!
Edgar Allan
Death and despair the fuel for fiends
And fears of never seeing light
Beauty stems from sleep
And violent colors weep
Edgar evermore in black and white
Dreaming …nevermore!

WE DON'T TALK
I won't complain about it
If you don't want me around
We don't talk about it
But I'm always, mostly, sometimes, never down
And if I die before I wake
I'll take a break
You likely killed me in my sleep
We're never together and will be forever, it's all so deep
I'll go downtown, I'll go downtown, maybe downtown
Cause I'm always, mostly, sometimes, never down
I breathed you in today
And it was suddenly yesterday
Funny how it goes away
SUNSHINE
And if you listen to the world with me, we'll hear the ocean sound. And if you come around the world with me, I'll show you what I've found.
Sunshine, yeah. Blue sky, yeah.
I don't mind, I don't mind. You can come with me for the ride.
And since you've come around the world with me, I promise I'll be true. For years and years in spite of all we say and do, I know we'll always find sunshine, yeah, blue sky, yeah...
DON'T BOTHER
Don't bother with me anymore, I can't hear a word you're saying.
Don't bother with me anymore, I can't hear a word you're saying now.
Too much is never enough. Too much, how much is enough?
Don't bother with me anymore, I can't hear a word you're saying.
Don't bother with me anymore, I won't live a lie that will drag me down.
Too much is never enough. Too much, how much is enough? Too much is never enough for you. Too much, how much is enough?
XO
Hi, how are you? My watch has suddenly ticked off twenty years. I don't like to admit it, but seeing you is one of my darkest fears.
I don't want you to go away.
So, I'll write you a song instead and hopefully see you before you are dead. I'm leaning to meaning to find all the good things I left in my life, and you're right there. You're right there.
I don't want you to go away.
And if you're feeling my gravity, sorry. I'll lighten it up when you're walking through my door. And once more we'll be playing, and saying all of the things we used to say, like "love and loss," like "hello."
I don't want you to go away again.
1987
The giant stepped and cracked the back of the bug in his walk, he wasn't thinkin bout it, wasn't looking up he wasn't looking down, he wasn't paying no attention. Between you and me, it was the bug that he'd just spooned out of his juice glass.
She said "hey now, what do you learn from love?" Softly, killing the life you've been dreaming of. Hey now, what do you get from it? Everything.
The giant mused on spotted pant, plaids and stripes -Siouxsie or Adam Ant? Put his doo rag on, he pulled his high tops up and rolled on down the hill for fries and gravy.
She said "hey now, what do you learn from love?" Softly, killing the life you've been dreaming of. Hey now, what do you get from it? Everything.
Nineteen, on and on, nineteen...
MOLLY
Molly won’t allow herself to go to school today.
She has a lot to say about the world and why it’s gone astray.
And when I ask her to explain, she creases up her brow and tips her head and says,
“there’s something in the air and in the water -something vile and changed. I can see it in their eyes, I can feel it in my bones…”
And then she sadly walks away.
Molly, we miss you so, why did you have to go?
Molly used to sleep beneath the stars without a care, and now she sees only darkness there.
In a world that’s full of light, it’s hard to live at night. I only hope she finds herself again.
Molly, we miss you so, why did you have to go?
LOVELY
Wrapping my life in things I cannot say. Diving into the sweetness of your soul.
A thousand days of blossoms bloom. A thousand days have come and gone.
Although I’m already underwater, you’re still on my skin.
The smell of your hair, the taste of your lips. What a lovely day it’s been.
And though I’m already underwater, you’re still on my skin.
The touch of your hand, the light in your eyes.
What a lovely day it’s been.
